About
The Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association
The association was found in 1970 under the leadership of stalwarts like Dr.Narasimha Iyer and Dr.M.Natarajan. The association has already completed 49 years of existence and recently conducted the 53rd annual conference (TNOACON -2020 ) at Vellore. The association has formally been registered officially in February, 2002 and its constitution and byelaws, officially communicated to the registrar of society act.

Centenary Year of Prof. Dr. M. Natarajan
Greetings!
Prof. M. Natarajan was born on March 18, 1920 at Kamuthi, the erstwhile Madras State. After graduating as a B.A, he entered Stanley Medical College, Madras. He had a brilliant academic career winning medals and prizes including university and college blue ribbons earning the sobriquet, “Medal“Natarajan.

TNOA was inaugurated on 23.12.1970 by Prof. Robert Roaf, then Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Liverpool. Prof. M. Natarajan, First President & Prof. P.V.A. Mohandass, First Secretary cum Treasurer, Now it is a second largest state chapter of IOA with more than 2000 life members. Always known for its academic excellence and community services. Reaches all parts of the state with 23 affiliated district / city ortho clubs. Winner of AK Gupta Trophy, OASIS Best Chapter & BJD Awards.
